Adorazione dei Pastori
Critics date the “Adoration of the Shepherds” of Cento (private collection) back to 1516. In this period Garofalo’s production is strongly influenced by Dosso Dossi: colours become more corpuscular and rough, chiaroscuro is more evident. Classical reference is quite evident in the profound, almost incredible arcades that frame the scene; on the background, a typically Venetian- coloured sunset warms the atmosphere.
